Replacing all teeth – removable option
If you have lost all your teeth in one or both jaws, you can choose a permanently anchored dental implant bridge or a removable prosthesis that is connected to two or more dental implants. This is called an overdenture. This type of overdenture remains in place more firmly than a conventional removable prosthesis. For the most natural looking solution, the permanently anchored dental implant bridge is the answer when the prerequisites are met.
Step 1
A consultation and thorough dental examination is performed by Dr Longbottom.- X-rays and an impressions are taken of your dental situation.
Step 2
The dental implants are placed. No healthy teeth are affected or damaged. Healing time depends on bone quantity, quality and your clinical situation.
- Depending upon your situation, the final procedure for step 2 can be one of the following:
- Abutments and a temporary full arch removable denture are placed during healing.
- The dental implants are covered by soft tissue and a temporary full arch removable denture is placed during healing.
- In some cases, permanent abutments and the final full arch bridge can be placed immediately.
Step 3
Depending upon your individual situation, the next step can include one of the following:
Temporary abutments are replaced by permanent abutments. An impression is taken and the temporary denture is put in place.- The dental implants are revealed through a second surgery and abutments are placed. The temporary denture is put in place. After a healing period, an impression for the final restoration restoration is made. The temporary denture is put back in place.
Step 4
A new set of teeth, carefully created to look like your natural teeth are secured in place.
